Car: 1988 IROC Z coupe
Engine: stock LB9...for now.
Transmission: T5 non world class :(
Axle/Gears: BW with 3.73 gears.
88 IROC Z

I have been trying to figure out what type of engine is in this car. I think it has a L48 block and heads with a TPI intake. Would that combo work good.
I have got the partial VIN and suffix code on the front of the block. V0916CHA. The date code is I117. I am still trying to get to the casting number but the engine is still in the car so access is tight. This is a bring back to life project. This car sat for 14 years rusting away before I got it. Until today, I thought it was a L98 TPI. I was not sure what year it was so I started reading some posts and now I am all screwed up with what I found. Am I in good shape or do I need to start over?

It's an LB9 305 out of an '88 Firebird.

Should've left it sitting where you found it.
