where does this wire go?
This summer I tore my engine apart and had the heads rebuilt. I've got everything back together, and it starts, but it will die at idle. If you keep the RPM's above 1000, it will run okay. I've moved the car in and out of the garage. But if the RPM's drop, the engine dies.
It ran fine before I took it apart, so I don't think it is something like my coil going bad or some part suddenly failing. More likely is I don't have something connected properly, either the spark plug wires or some sensor is plugged in wrong.
I've checked and double-checked my plug wires, and they look good. So I'm looking for any unplugged wires or vacuum hoses.
I found this little red wire, in the driver's side corner of the engine bay. I can't find what it connects to. Can anyone help me out? Could this be the cause of my rough idle?

Re: where does this wire go?
Looks to be your fuel pump test terminal. Not your problem. Maybe timing related. Check your plug wires for any disconnects.

Re: where does this wire go?
Thanks for the info about the fuel pump test terminal. That ruled out the only wire I could find that wasn't connected. After looking at this thread : https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...iagrams-i.html
I tracked the issue down to an unconnected vacuum hose. It was underneath the plenum in the back, so it was really hard to see, but when I saw it on the vacuum diagram, I checked it and it was not hooked up.
After connecting it, the car started up and runs pretty well, but the timing needs to be adjusted still. Almost there...
