Engine swap

I bought a '92 RS, it was flooded about 12 years ago. The engine is trashed, so I'm pulling it and everything else out. I want to keep the dash original and other stuff. My question is since I'm putting a engine in that's not computerized can I use the stock distributor or not? If I can how do I wire it up? Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge you would have to replace it. I know that one of the things required to switch our cars to non computer controlled carb motors is an HEI style ditributor. The stock fuel injected motors from our cars had distributors that were computer controlled advance. What you would need is a vaccum advance distributor.
