Vicious 88 GTA

I got a friend who got an silver 01' 4 Door GTP....he weighs about 90 lbs. and is going to run against me...on Friday my TPS sensor was messed up and I had a burned wire ( fixed it Friday night ) and during lunch on our way out me and my girlfriend he pulls up next to me and stomps it...I downshif to 2nd manually and pull neck and neck with him and that cause my car was boggin!!! he had 2 friends in the car that way the same as him....I want to run him again on Monday and I will let you know the outcome....but in the meanwhile...tonite I ran a red GTP 2 Door that has an exhaust....We ran from a dead stop and when I hit second gear I just pulled about a car on him...hit third and it was still about a car maybe a foot or two less....and le off at about 97 MPH.....so I beat a GTP....I am a little worried about my friends because he gong to put a pulley for the charger so it will crank out more PSI and a CAI.....AARON

You sure race a lot man. You should definitely beat a stock GTP, but a modded one could be trouble.

Ummm, let me try and refresh my memory as to what the mods achieve on the GTP. Ok, I think that with chip, intake, exhaust and pulleys the GTP can hit high 13's with ideal condition, but low 14s are more common. 240 or so hp, and 280 trq from the factory. If he only has pulleys then you should win.

Last season at the track there was a GTP with some mods on it, and when I ran him he went 13.6. I know he had more boost and DRs, but other than that I could not tell! I say go for it, but expect to get beat if he mods it!

this sounds like a close race. if the GTP gets a new pulley and hooks, you could be out of luck. im gonna give this one to whomever gets the better launch. good luck!

My buddy has a GTP, with a 3.25 Pulley, Full exhaust, CAI, and Digital horsepower pcm.


Stock they come with a 3.8 I believe. When my friend had his 3.4 on, with CAI and exhaust, we raced and he beat me by half a car at 90 (Shouldnt have raced him, I was out of my power band). Race him from a stop, those cars are really hard to launch. I can almost guarantee you if I raced him from a stop id rip him a new *** out of the hole.


Now he has a 3.25 and he just ordered a cam. And with the cam he can go down to a 3" pulley. He should be good for very low 13's.
