Re: VID OF MY HOT CAM LT1 IROC VS CAMMED 306 MUSTANG

Even if you set up a race before hand, more than likely you won't get the full story from the other guy, regardless of how much you try to squeeze him for info. Some people like to exaggerate what their car can do and some will downplay it. It's part of the fun of street racing.

From what I've seen if a guy says his car runs mid 13s, expect it to be closer to 12s. Guy says that he's stock, well he probably has just about every bolt-on that can be thrown at the car. A big one that no one ever mentions is weight reduction.

Maybe I am asking too much, and maybe the OP doesn't care what heads the car has. If thats the case, no worries. I personally try and find this info out when I race someone that I am interested in beating!

Carry on.
I just reread the OP's posts... nowhere did he mention aluminum heads. It could have cast iron heads. Would you - at a glance be able to tell the difference between GT40 iron heads (not GT40P heads) and a stock set of E7's?

That's an underhood shot of my 89' LX coupe BTW.

Not a huge Mustang fan, but your engine bay alone looks incredible. Very clean...

Re: VID OF MY HOT CAM LT1 IROC VS CAMMED 306 MUSTANG

Thanks, it's something I aquired recently. It's a very clean car, and a real 5.0L car - not a converted 4 cyl car. I have too many cars/projects though, but now is just the wrong time to sell anything. I had the car for sale recently, lots of tire kickers - no one with the cash.

There you go, and now the kill means a LOT more. Having those heads means his car should very well be a 300+ rwhp fox!

Once again good kill, nice to know a little more about what the car had done to it.
