Who would win 1990 rs 305 vs 2007 300 hemi

Me and my buddy were talking the other day and we got to wondering who win in a race I've got a 1990 camaro rs 305 auto only thing done to it is an edelbrock open element, and the exhaust is dumped before the rear axle. No muffler butthe cats still there. He has a 2007 chrysler 300 with the 5.7 hemi. He has a cold air intake and a throttle body spacer. I insisted he would smoke me because not only is his motor bigger it's also 17 years newer. I know he weighs a ton but he thinks he would lose big time. We are talking 1/4 mile drag on street tires.Who woud win?

Signs indicate the Chrysler would be triumphant.

Re: Who would win 1990 rs 305 vs 2007 300 hemi

17 year newer has nothing to do with it... The race would be a factor of power to weight, traction, and gearing. Obviously he weighs more and makes more power - they will run mid 14's stock, your car stock is a high 15/low 16 second car. Bolt ons can put you into the high 14's relatively easy, close enough to beat him if he's a mediocre driver.

You are talking about a mid 13 second car on average. More than 2 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile with a trap speed nearing 15mph faster.

My full bolt-on LT1 swap couldn't touch the R/T's trap speed every time we raced. I was a better driver and more familar with launching my car, so I tended to eek him out every race. But make no mistake, he was gaining on me every time I crossed the finish line.

It wasn't "109mph" as quoted in the video, it was actually 105.x.

It'd be an ugly, ugly loss for the RS.
