My 87 TA vs Volvo 850
Who do you think will win my 87 T/A 305 TPI with CAI or my dad's 1996 Volvo 850 GLT non-turbo? I mean his car is quick but it just doesn't seem as quick as mine. When I drive I notice you have to push the gas a little harder than my car. My friend thinks my dad's car is quicker. His car is auto by the way and fully loaded so it is pretty heavy. He has the 2.4 liter inline 5. Yes inline 5. His car is also completely stock down to the air filter, he buys Volvo air filters.

ya you'll definitly win. Although people take volvo's lightly my friend has an 87 740 turbo volvo 5 speed. It runs mid 13's easy and has little mods really. It's pretty fun wasting rice while riding in that thing. And no he's not a ***** nor is his volvo rice he hates people that rice out cars. We're almost done with his new motor which will be running 20-24psi and he's hoping for 12's and with a better suspension and rear end i think he'll see high 11's to very low 12's eventually.

That is what I told my friend. I will print this out for he can read it. I mean the car is fast and can be made really fast with some mods but stock form as it is now I will waste him easily. My friend just has a thing against GM.

The newer volvo's aren't that slow. Hell my mother had a '98 S90 and it wasn't bad for a 4000lb car. But the only volvos to worry about are the turbos and you should be able to beat him easily.

A 5-cylinder. There's an engine for the ages
