Headers bolts
Hey guys
I have discovered that I have a header leak coming from the passenger side. The header bolts appear to be loose and I can't get to them because of the air conditioning box and pollution pump.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to or what tools are needed to tighten these annoying bolts?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Benny

Alot of patience and maybe some shortening of existing wrenches. Not really any help, so sorry.
I have heard on this message board I think, of a guy swapping out the header bolts with bolts that use allen keys. I want to try that one, but my engine bay is a lot more empty than yours so its not that big a deal for me.

Have you tried getting at them from under the car. It is a tight fit, but if you can get a wrench on it, you should be able to tighten them up. It would probably help if you have someone above to guide you. Worked for me...then again, I have a carbed engine.

I cut about an inch off of the wrench I use for them and keep it with me in the car. I check every time I check the oil and other under stuff.
Just get a crappy tire wrench and chop it down with a hack saw.

Benny, forgot to ask but do you have lock washers installed on the bolts?

Hey guys,
Thank you all for you recomendations. It makes good sense to change the bolts in order to avoid getting my hands scratched and cut everytime I try tightening them.
I don't necessarily have to buy them in the states, I can get these bolts through Karrbelt right?
Benny
