i need a new clutch... car is slipping :\

and i think i need to repair some gears

and i am broke so... car is going away for like... 10 years till i can afford it lol

and i am not putting in no ****ty stock GM clutches that can't handle my beatings...

i am going to just throw my car away, pretend i don't have one... and save up $10,000, buy freaken gears that are made of titanium or something that won't break no matter what, and buy a clutch made of asteroid metal that will last longer than a year...

ahhhhhh stupid car!!!

Sorry to hear that Easy... But damn, how hard can you possibly be on your clutches? You might want to get a different shop to install the next one.

pressure plate would definitely have been changed though..

Easy, let me know if you've had enough and are willing to sell the car... I'm interested.

Don't put it away without fixing it. You'll grow to hate it after a while...

see

i know what you're thinking... u think i'm sick of my car and i just want money and i'm gonna sell it cheap

wrong

lol

if i rejected $13,000 for my car 3 weeks ago............. there's no way i'm settling for dirt cheap now that i have a broken tranny

it's kind of a relief... now i can just pretend i don't have a car, pretend i'm saving up for a new car and take care of my debts in life.... and then....................... put everything back into the camaro!

Easy I have a question, Did they re-machine the flywheel each time they installed a new clutch? If they did not that might be the problem.

Ever think about putting in a 6 speed from a 4th gen? I'm not sure what might be required as far as fabrication but thats the route I'd be looking at if I had a manual car.

Tremec T56 with adapter plate is a relatively easy install for that car. What's not so easy though is coming up with the coin for the Tremec and by the sounds of he's going to be turning tricks in latrines if the economy doesn't improve.

good news i think!

Well, I went to Mr.Transmission just for the hell of it today with my ****ed up car... Guy there, real cool guy named Joe, took it for a drive...

He told me all my gears were fine. He said nothing is wrong with my gears at all...

He told me my clutch... is gone...

I talked to him about some pricing to fix the stuff, blah blah blah... and blah blah blah... Then he started asking about the previous clutch. I told him my mechanic put in a GM clutch. He started telling me that the GM clutches come with a 1 year warranty... and that clutch sure as hell didn't last me a year.

Well, to get to the good part, I came home and gave my mechanic a call. I asked about the warranty and stuff, and told him my clutch was gone.

He told me not to worry about it, he will fix it free of charge. I was telling him I was putting my car away for storage, he said "no problem, I will take care of it when you take it out"... I started asking "but won't the warranty run out by the time I take the car out?" and he told me that "don't worry I buy clutches from them all the time they will take care of it"...

and my mechanic is a man of his word... u can trust me on that......

so it appears that... my problem is getting fixed i think...

Why not get it fixed before the hibernation? I would hate to stew the whole offseason knowing that there is something to fix.

well, i was like "it would not be a problem to drop it off before i put it away... it all depends on how busy you are, what would be better for you?"

and he told me he would rather fix it later because he is busy this week...

Get it done now.... your mechanic will never be less busier and there's always a small chance he won't be around in the spring.

Icebird.
Check your PM.

To answer you carb question: I don't have a good carb mechanic and will probably be looking at getting my carbs re-set in the spring.
I know a guy in your area that builds TQ converters. He is very well connected so I'll ask him about a good carb mechanic in your area. Let you know Friday.... although you may want to post-pone that work till spring if your not driving it.
My car & engine are stock btw.
