do 350 tpi come with dual fans?
can anyone tell me if 87 350 tpi came with single or dual fans? i did an engine swap from a 86 tpi with a single fan to a 350 and i'm using an 87 350 tpi ecm and while riding around town it's runs hot. i've got a year old radiator, victor series water pump, 180 and it still runs hotter than when i had the 305.

but the passenger fan is usually only used when you have A.C. and it is turned on. I have an 87 TPI 350 IROC and i have wired both fans together so the engine cools off really fast.

You could try some water wetter. I haven't used it yet but alot of the people around here have good things to say about it. You might also want to rig a fan switch. The fan motor itself could be kind of weak. I recently replaced mine because it wouldn't kick itself over on it's own and now it blows ALOT more then it ever has in the past 2 years. It was only 30 bucks from AutoZone and a pretty easy swap..

hook up two manual switches off the ecm to control both the fans yourself. it will still go on automatically and have a manual control for whenever you want them on......works great on my friends car

victor water pump
dont know if this has any bearing, but it did with mine..I rebuilt the engine in my hauling truck, kinda a beffed up 350 with 400 crank, and had a fancy aftermarket water pump, and after doing everything i possibly could, changing thero , bigger rad, new fan shround, and having the motor checkedf out at local hot rod shop, they suggested going back to a stock water pump, they thought maybe the pump was pumping to "fast" through rad, not giving it enough time to cool sufficently, was running hot before i did all this, i did try the water pump, and glory be it cooled as it should, or maybe i should say cooled as i wanted it too.just a thought...
