Speed Density vs. MAF
Planning on a TPI swap and I was wondering which is better, MAF or speed density? I MIGHT put a cam in it later on, but that would probably be the extent of it. Just was curious what you guys with experience thought.

I am a speed density fan. MAF is tough and can be problematic. Some guys here know how to tune MAF but I think it is a big PITA. MAF is not for a novice in high performance tuning apps.

Speed Density it known to be quicker by a couple tenths of a second. I herd MAF can handle mods better

In my opinion I would go with which ever one you can find at the better price. I currently have a SD setup and tune it as well as tune my friends MAF setup. In tuning both of them I really can't give any recomendation on which one is better.

I know that I will probably get bashed for this but I switched to MAF from SD because it is easier to tune part throttle with the MAF system. My car is much more responsive with the MAF then it ever was with SD.

MAF, it's better because it's more responsive to changes than SD. That's why all the car manufacturers are using MAF now. It is much more accurate than a SD which is "guessing" at how much air is being brought in, the MAF accurately measures it.
