305 Hsr

would the HSR work on a stock 305 out of an RS? i want to convert over to TPI , so i thought maybe ill just go all the way and do a HSR while im at it. let me know if anyone else has tried this and done it sucsessfully, cause im only a bagger at kroger! i dont have alot of $$$

well the swirl port heads your throttle body 305 has are a huge bottleneck. as are the stock exhaust manifolds and the stock cam. a HSR would prolly work OK on a healthy 305 with a cam and a real good set of heads. there is nothing wrong with TBI, i would just get a set of headers, a cam, and a better set of heads and keep your TBI. you could also upgrade to a better intake manifold and a better throttlebody. TBI motors can run real strong when correctly modified, be unique and keep your TBI setup there isnt a thing wrong with it.

If you don't have a lot of money to spend. Do not consider getting a HSR. You will have to put to much money in the engine and drivetrain to be happier. Almost everything would have to be changed to warrant that change, even then, it would not be too good of a street car.

stick with TBI and change the intake, heads, cam, install headers, and go low 14s

Go with TPI, purchase a wider aray of more parts that are more avalible and get more power and better gasmilage. It is opinion, and we have a difference. I love my Stealth ram though.
