I Was Drivin My Car From Work Then ALl Of The SUdden it started to pull, so what the weekend that came up i changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap, and rotor. And it kept pulling anyways. SO The NExt Day I Turn It On And It Ran Fine WHen It Was Cold, But Once ITs Warm It Starts To Pull Again, And WHen The RPM's are going up the tach gets jumpy. And I Checked everything and everything was fine, and i dont get any code from the ses light. Can it be the dsitrubotor? ESC sensor?

I'm not sure on what you mean by "pull". Usually "pull" has two meanings. Either the engine starts making more power in which the "engine pulls harder" or the alignment is off in which the "car pulls to the right".

Do you mean its misfiring? Is it cutting out like not all cylinders are firing? If the tach gets jumpy, I would say its probably the byproduct of an ignition problem since the Tach reads off of the coil trigger, perhaps a bad coil or ignition module?

Yes, THere U Go Im Sorry, Its Misfiring, couldnt think of that word, but the coil in my car i got it 6 months ago, i got an msd, and about the ignition module, would that be cause of the engine misfiring? cause i checked all the wires and they are all in the right cylinders, spark plugs were gapped correctly, cap and rotor are ok. SO before i start buying anything, can i do some type of diagnosis to that module? or can it be something else?

are the spark plug wires getting burned by the exhaust manifolds? Check your vacuum lines as well. Sounds like something didn't go back on right. Check your firing order as well.

vacuum lines are ok, firing order is fine, and its still misfiring

Well, if u say everything is ok in the ignition.

I am assuming that u have ohmed all the plug wires and checked out all the spark plugs?

Have u tested the pickup coil? They dont always fail, they can cause misfires and the like as well?

U say it is ok cold and gets worse as it hits operating temp. Could be an injector issue although they usually show up when cold moreso than hot, but ohm them to rule out an electrical issue on them.

Also when car is cold before it reaches closed loop, it can only put in X amount of fuel. After it is closed loop it uses feedback from things like the MAF and 02. Might be worth investigating there, could be a lean issue

A Quick and easy way to check to see if it caused by an electrical problem is to do the old TEST LIGHT TRICK!!!


Start your engine and use your Inductive timing light as a test unit. When the motor is running just move the inductive pickup from 1 wire to the next. If the cylinder is firing the timing light will flash, if it doesn't that cylinder isn't firing. This is a great way to see if your plugs are firing when they are under pressure. A plug will alot of times fire when out of the cylinder, but when in the motor under pressure will fail. This takes all the guess work out of it, it is either firing the test light and working or not. It also lets you know if a plug is intermitent or not, the light should flash consistently and not be erratic if it is you should replace the plug. Best of all you can test all 8 spark plugs in less than a minute and know for sure the condition of your spark. Once you have eliminated the spark issue you can concentrate in another direction and know for sure that it was or wasn't spark related. Very basic tools can give very positive results when used properly. Hope this helps you to get your car back on road.

You can do this on your car when it is Hot and missing. If the timing light isn't flashing properly you should look at your electrical system. If it is flashing consistently when hooked to each wire I would start looking at my Injectors or fuel system. I know it sounds pretty simple but it works great. If you have a plug that isn't sparking every time for what ever reason, the timing light won't flash every time either. I've put new Plugs in before and still had a miss. After spending a ton of time and money on parts, I came to the conclusion I had gotten a bad NEW plug. If I had just used my timing light I would have saved 1/2 my Saturday off and around $100.00. YEah Im Gonna Try To Get A Hold Of A TIming Light This Weekend, Is The Pickup Coil The Ignition Module? Or Is It THe Coil That Is NExt To THe Distrubort Cap? Cause I Have A New Msd Cap, Coil, Rotor. ANd If Its The Module, Can I Get A Brand Name Like Msd? Or AM I Gonna Have To Purchase It From A GM Dealer?

I Think Im Just GOnna Go On And Replace My Stock Distributor. What manufacturor would u guys recommend? ANd If U Guys Own One, WOuld U Have The Part # For It? Cause Ive Been Lookin For ONe, And ALl I Get Are The Ones WIth The Vacuum Port On The SIde
