fuel pump

first off i want to say i dont really know much about cars but i want to ask youguys, and i hope this is the right place for this.... i ran out of gas the other yesterday at a friends house(i know im a dumb ***) but anyways i went and put gas in it and tryed to start it and it would not start. now normally i can hear the hummmmm of the fuel pump befor i start it i was wondering if because i ran it dry did i f*ck up the fuel pump or something, please someone help i want to bring my car home

Axle/Gears: 3.42
so when you turn the ignition on.. you're not hearing the pump prime for 2 seconds?

get yourself a helms manual.. check the fuel pump relay, check your fuses, and do a search on this board.. it could be a bunch of things.. but start with the easiest first and work your way up..

ANY autoparts store.. can also get a chiltons if they dont have helms.. 14$

is it bad on the pump to run out of gas,cause until then it has started like a champ, thanks for helpin kill joy

Check the fuse by the battery. Maybe it blew by chance.

have the fuel preasure checked at the rail. if you do not hear the pump and the relay is ok and there is no preasure dump the tank. I have to do it again and fight the 3in exaust because the aftermarket fuel tank from 1a auto is binding my fuel sender.

al right im kind of a newbee so where can i find this fuse? looking at a car engine is like understanding spainsh to me.

pop your hood.. look over by the battery.. there should be 2 thick wires (one red, one orange) going into a black box type weather pack fuse.. the black weather pack fuse should be bolted or attached to the fender.. pull the cap off and check to see if its blown.
