TPI Runner Install

I followed the FAQ information on changing my injectors. Now I need to re-install the runners. If I tighten the lower, inside bolts on the runners before installing the plenum, how do I keep the gaskets from tearing as I install it. If I install the plenum first, then how do I tighten the 2 inside bolts on the lower runners?

Many of you have done this, so I must be missing something.

Leonard

If I remember correctly, when I did it I did not tighten bottom. I put plenum on first and then tightend the inside bolts using an extension to ratchet. I think i also had to use swivel socket.

which gaskets are you worried about tearing? put the gaskets on the manifold tightened down all the lower runner bolts, then put the gaskets on the top of the runners, and slide the plenum in. its a snug fit, just make sure the gaskets dont drop down at all.

The top ones are the ones I am worried about tearing. When I removed the plenum, it was a very tight fit and of course it tore the gaskets coming out. It didn't look like there would be access to the 2 lower bolts on the inside of the runners if I installed the runners first.

You can access the two "inside" bolts with the plenum on.

Just need a long extension and some fender guards.

Yep, leave the bottom bolts loose and tighten them after you get the top ones started and somewhat threaded in.
