just got done doin a tpi swap on my 89 rs (was tbi) now the injectors dont seem to be firing
i am runing a 165 ecm and an original wiring harness i bought both off ebay i checked the injector harness and with the key in run i get power to the injectors but then when i crank the motor over the light goes out and in doesnt seem to be pulsing the injectors the car will start on starting fluid but not on its own so i know im getting spark but not fuel. i also replaced the fuel pump with a tpi pump since the tbi shuts off at 12-17 psi dont have any fuel leaks. is there any sensor that would tell the computer to pulse the injectors or is that solely in the ecm itself. thanks in advance for any help. just want to get the car on the road and enjoy the last few days of summer

Sounds exactly like a VATS issue to me.

Does it spark? If not your not seeing a reference from the distrib to the ecm.

If it doesnt thats where I would go.

If u have spark and no fuel, then I would investigate VATS and associated injector wiring,

it is getting spark as it will run if i spray starting fluid in it i thought the vats just wont let the starter not start the motor kind of like if it would have a dead battery (did that to me already) then it would start up again. i get power to the injector through the harness in run but not when i crank the engine over to start
