a couple issues
last winter i swapped my TBI over to TPI and have some problems with it right now didnt get to drive it last summer and want to get it ready for this summer
1 when i go to start the car the fan comes on right away and stays on
2 it seems to run good for about 5-10 min and then falls on its face (no power)
3 i have been trying to get the timing set the sticker under the hood says 0degrees in drive but everyone on here is saying like 6-8 degrees
4 with the timing set at 6degrees i have to have the idle screw all the way maxed up to keep it running (about 1000 rpms)
please any help would be appreciated
thanks

I need a little more info. Which TPI setup are you using, Early MAF with ninth injector, or late without ninth injector, or Speed density setup? Are there any codes being set? What fuel pump are you using? Whats fuel pressure?
TBI cars run 0 degrees. TPI runs 6 degrees.
TBI cars run 0 degrees. TPI runs 6 degrees.

Sounds like you need to set the IAC to do the work. Was the TPI setup off a running pull or something handed to you in a box? Start checking with setting the IAC and then normal routine maintenance: check plugs, wires, rotor, cap, coil, ect. ect. Is it 40psi at the rail idling? If so its kinda high at idle, should be more around 37psi at idle with vacuum.
