Injector resistance and pressure

I just took apart the intake on my 87 irocz 305 tpi and the regulator was ppluged up with a bunch of crap and it wasn't holding any pressure so i took off the injectors and cleaned them and i was testing them and they all are 16.5 ohms of resistance and i was wondering if this is acceptable or are they pooched they made a little ticking noise but not really bad and i also want to kno how long should the fuel rail hold pressure for i get 48 psi but then it drops down to nuthing within 30 sec the injectors aren't leaking and the regulator was meesed up.

I would be worried about the junk in the pressure regulator. Like how did it get in there? You have the inline filter and the sock filter on the fuel pump. Two place to stop dirt etc.

Did more junk get back into the regulator after you cleaned it? How about the inline filter? Is it clean?

I changed the filter when i bought hte car and the old 1 was clean and not much resistance in it , i had to pull the manifold and the fuel rails because there was sooo much crap in the fuel rail and regulator i would have done more damage if i didn't but with this style regulator i can't see how they would hold pressure for long time not a good desgin.

16½ ohms is perfect. Your injectors aren't Multecs, or they would be a lot worse.

The fuel pressure regulator is just fine so long as there is only clean and dry fuel in the system, My '86 will hold 35 pounds of pressure for a couple of days after shutting it off. If there is sediment or contamination in the fuel, it can foul the finely lapped valve disc and seat, causing leakage. Water or methanol in the fuel can cause corrosion of the disc and seat, causing leakage. Beyond that, they should last indefinitely.

well it would go from 48psi to 0psi in about 30sec and u can see in my avatar what my regulatar looked like theres supose to be 3 holes there not 2 so i'm sure this is obvious but do you think thats the definate cause for not holding any pressure. i got a new regulator looks the same as the old 1 and i cleaned al the crap off the old housing and fuel rails and used a buffing wheel to clean it up nice so it would seal properly.
