can you make some? use your old ones as a template and just draw on some sheetmetal some bigger ones. im sure that if you can hone out your TB, you have the means to make new blades as well.

i wish i could but im kinda working in an incomplete shop right now. of course, i could just do it by hand but i dont think the finished product would be as good. i was kinda hoping that someone on here has bored thier TB out and had some of thier stock butterflys left over. if not-then ill probably be in the shop cutting me up some aluminum sheet-like you said.
thanx for the reply

I've got the pair from my TB, I went to 52mm. I had Kinsler in Troy Mi. make new blades, they cost $ 38. If you need 1, or both send me your address.

One thing make sure you can go that big, mine had a porosity problem going bigger. You can epoxy it to fill it in if you have to. Just make sure it'll go that big (1.92"). Don't go any further until you have the blades to fit it to.

Good Luck! John.

hey John--thanks for the reply. but it turns out i dont need them. Dave (redbird87) is sending me some now. but i would like to point out how great the people are on this forum-its kinda like us camaro misfit people take care of one another. for instance-i post that i cant find a part to finish my project and what do ya know-3 days later some guy that i have never met (in person) is mailing me the part. kinda puts me in the christmas spirit--uhhhh 3 months late but better late then never
but ive got a vortec intake manifold off of a 98 suburban that im now thinking about donating - just to keep the giving spirit alive-
i'll have to do that when i get back into town on thursday

For future reference, 2.8/3.1 cars got mono 52mm blades. Theres about 5 billion 2.8/3.1 powered cars in the junkyard, so if you can bore throttle body's those are the blades you want.

i never thought about that. but the next time i do a TPI body ill keep that in mind. but for this case you cant really bore a TBI past 48mm unless you really want to get creative--
thanks
