Need new injectors, What type?
Ok, here it is. I've narrowed it down to the injectors, some, being bad. The car idles real rough, meaning it'll idle at 500rpm then to 750 down to 600 up, down around there. It accelerates real good, no back firing, so I think the injectors are not firing all the time and NOT leaking. Besides I checked the fuel pressure when the car is off and it stays at 47psi.
Now, should I get 24# SVO injectors or stay with the 22# GM standard?
I really don't have that much money to spend just around $500. And I heard you have to get a custom chip for the SVO injectors and I also heard, since I bought my chip from TPIS, that they don't recommend using 24# SVO injectors. Plus I don't have the extra money to get a chip programmer either.
So HELP anyone?
Car 89 IROC 350 TPI
MODs:
TPIS ZZ9 cam
Edelbrock 6085 heads
Edelbrock TES headers
1.5 RR
TPIS underdrive pullies
dual exhaust with 2 cats and 2 mufflers
Rebuilt tranny w/ Trans-Go shft kit
TPIS level 5 chip
Thanks in advance.

How long does your fuel pressure stay at 47 psi for? It should bleed off slowly when the car is shut off. Are you using an adjustable regulator to set the pressure at 47 psi?

gta324, I have been thinking of getting them cleaned but I need the car, it is a daily driver.
But I also think the solinoids (spelling?) are going bad so it just isn't a cleaning but a rebuild needed too.
Also I still have plans to do more mods such as intake manifold, runners, and +.030 over (this one in far distant future) to be done.
steve88iroc, pressure stays up for about 15 minutes and will tapper off alittle. I didn't stay around too long after that since I thought that was good enough.
Yes, I do have a AFPR and it is set at 47psi, sorry I didn't list it.
Artic White Z,cool name, I really don't want to go to 19psi SVO's but I would like to know what the effects are if I would go to 24# SVO's, like I said at top.
Anybody with 24# SVO's?
Sorry, it takes so long to reply but I work the 3rd shift and stay on here at that time.
