TPI Questions

I dont know if this thread is in the right spot.
Feel free to move it to somewhere else if it isnt.

I was thinking of building a new engine for my 86 z28 camaro
And then the question is, would the TPI fit any small block chevy?
and if fuel pump, injectors and pressure regulator is replaced, is the air intake enough to match about 4-500 hp ?

the kind of engine i'm thinking of is a 350 or a 400 SB with trick-flow preformance heads and cam and such, so if someone have done a set up of an high preformance smallblock and getting the TPI to work with it , i would be happy for any advice regarding this!

the reason for doing this is that the original engine went bad, and i want something BAD ***! ( for the record , the tranny and rear end and complete suspention is reinforced and replaced, so the only thing that is left is the engine)

thanks

Re: TPI Questions

if you have the money i'd go with a 383 stroker .. with the vortec heads, edelbrock vortec tpi intake base, and aftermarket runners and a plenum that is ported to hell and back (or get a hsr), and a full exhuast ..

but the tpi doesnt rev much past 5000 with it fully ported .. if you dont have emmisions i'd get a hsr .. there cheaper than the edelbrock intake manifold and the bigger runners .. and they'll rev up to 6000 i think

hope that helps a little ..

im building my 305 right now with that edelbrock intake, vortec heads, comp cam, hooker 2055 headers, etc .. should do good on gas and have a little punch to keep driving to college and back a fun trip ..
