Can a TPI HEI from an '85 be used with a harness and computer from '87? If memory serves correctly, they went to coils in '87, so wouldn't the provisions for the HEI be gone? Thanks!

Rock,
The '87 and later V-8s should have a separate coil, but still have teh HEI amplifier/switch module in the base of the distributor. The system is essentially the same with a separate coil. Connections could be interesting, however.
