Locking the converter to dyno

Is it easy to lock the converter as to get a more accurate dyno on a TPI car? Details appreciated? Also, any guesses on what my L98 with ported plenum, 160 stat, Hypertech Thermomaster chip and SLP 2OTL muffler will dyno? Best run is 13.94@96.67. I am thinking about 300 ft/lb torque and 200 peak rwhp, but could be way off.

I ran mine locked. I figured it couldn't hurt, and it prevents the TC from slipping under the stall speed. I'm running a 2700RPM Vigalante.

I've always wondered 'bout that too. Anyone done a comparison with and without locked during the same dyno sesion with the same car??????

ALDL and a jumper wire is all that is needed.

Yeah, easy to do, a paperclip across ALDL A and F (top right and left terminals.)
As for results, scientifically you really should see at leasta few % gain across the board w/ it locked as converter slip happens at all rpms, even off the top where they get close to no slip. And any slip in the TC means heat is being generated. And if heat is being generated, that energy is coming from somewhere, there is no free lunch. Energy spent making heat in the tranny is energy you could have set to the rear wheels instead. Rate of energy delivery equals power, so if you are sending more energy to the rear wheels, you are making more power per unit time.
The universe is whole after all.
