is there a way to make 88TPI intake work on 86-below heads

is there a way to make 88TPI intake work on 86-below heads

i got a 1988 TPI setup for my 82 T/A. but the heads are 86-below version..is there anyway to make an 88 TPI intake work on 86-below heads? is there a place that drills them out? or am i going to have to buy a 86-below intake

Well, I'm a newbie at this but I believe the only difference is the angle the holes are drilled between older and 87 and up. If you are feeling confident you can just elongate the holes enough to make it fit. I'm not from the area so I couldn't tell you if anyone could do it for you. Just my two cents. Good luck.

Yep, a die grinder with an aluminum cutter works good to change the angle in the intake. Some thread sealer on the bolt and a little silicone in the unused area seals it ok.

Like everyone said you can elongate the bolt holes. Thats what my friend did in his 86 TA that was accepting a 1990 L98.
