TPI Converting mass to map

Hello everybody,
I own a 91 GMC JIMMY that I'm pulling the 4.3L out and putting in a TPI V8. The TPI unit I have uses a Mass Air Flow Sensor and I would like to convert it to use a Mao sensor. Can I just tap the hole on the plenum where it should be. This unit also has the cold start injector. I don't have the harness or computer yet. I plan on getting the computer and harness from Painless Performance. Besides getting new stuff what can I do?

You can just not hook up the cold start injector. I've done that a couple times, or find the right size freeze plug for the injector hole, and silver solder up the end of the pipe just out of fitting.
You can tee off one of the other fittings if engine is together, but try to stay away from the map supply.

Re: TPI Converting mass to map

Just use your V-6 TBI harness to run the TPI system

Re: TPI Converting mass to map

My Truck wiring is gone, bought the truck for 35$ with title and a good body.

Re: TPI Converting mass to map

I've always been told that you should run full vacuum to the map sensor, and not split it off.
