Re: rough tick over

yes, it probably gummed up ur injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter, valves and fuel pressure regulator, best advice i could give you, is to take your fuel lines loose by the alternator, find out which one is the return line and take a air line and blow the gas in the return line back into the tank, then put a quart of high grade automatic transmission fluid in the tank of gas and run all of the gas through the lines and after that install a new fuel pump, and fuel filter, then connect the gas lines back and fill the tank with fresh gas and another quart of transmission fluid to a full tank of gas, then start the car and let it run the gas into it and it will clean your injectors and ur fuel rail of the old gas and clean out any gum build up off ur valves and injectors while lubing up the injector o rings. to run the pump u need to jumper the aldl connector under the dash from the fuel pump connector to the ground terminal, this way the pump will run non stop so that it will clean the fuel line out quickly. make sure u run all of whats left in the tank out and not just some of it, and while you have the tank dropped and ur replacing the fuel pump take some no lint terry cloths and sop up whats left of the fuel out of the tank. to see if that is what the problem is take a fuel pressure gauge to the schrader valve on the fuel rail and see what its putting out.
and smell the gas and look at the color of it, if u take the fuel line loose put some gas in a glass jar, but take about a 2 cups of fuel in a mason jar and set it in sun light in a window or something and look at in about 2-3 hours and if its bad it will seperate water from the gas and it will have sediment floating in it. if it does then u should do what i have recomended. any other symptoms or problems let me know and i will be glad to help, joseph
