TPI Vortec EGR Crossover pipe doesn't reach (part # for longer one)
I'm installing a scoggin-dickey Vortec TPI setup, which uses an egr tube, which connects to the exhaust. I had to have a pipe welded into the passenger header to connect the tube.
The problem is that I need about 1/2 " more length on the tube due to the position of the welded pipe.
Does anyone know of an alternative GM part # for a tube that's a little longer, or have another suggestion? Don't wanna have to take everything apart and reweld, and I want to run with EGR.
thanks in advance

I think the only part from G.M. would be a tube from the aluminum Corvette heads, since they used an external egr tube. Vortec heads are not intended for passenger car usage, so G.M. doesn't provide tubes for them. If your tube is too short, you will probably need to fabricate a longer one. Have you checked with an auto parts store to see if they carry steel tubing in the right diameter that you can bend up and use? I'm not sure if copper would work or if it would burn through.

Ok, the part SD sends out looks like a genuine GM part but I don't know if it's available anywhere but at SD.
I did manage to get it to fit but I the tube was bent and partially occluded, and I am getting an EGR code. I was figuring that I may be getting the code because not enough gasses are making it to the temp sensor. May be time to just disable egr in the PROM ;-)

i have the same setup and Tall alum valve covers, but had to cut down the exhaust riser tube to weld it on to the SLP #8 header. The flanged riser tube supplied should be longer than needed.
I realize that doesn't help, but I'd ask SD to send you the correct riser for your application.

The tube Scoggin-Dickey has is the Corvette version. I don't know why yours doesn't fit. Mine fit fine. If it doesn't fit, I would go with the suggestion above and try to get one fabb'd.

Can anyone send me some pics of the egr crossover pipe being hooked to after market headers ? I'm putting a 350 vortec in my 91 tbi camaro and would like to keep the egr functional and pass emmissions. I'm using the GMPP Tbi Vortec intake. E-mail me at shugg0517@yahoo.com . Thanks Tony

I'll send you a pic on Monday, left my memory stick at work.
FYI
The 2.8L engines use a flextube that you should be able to adapt to what you already have.
