hunting

hello to all. i have a 91 l98 tpi sitting in a 71 ss elcamino. i have been fighting a hunting issue that i just cant seem to catch. the computer does not throw any codes at me, i have changed to o2 sensor. coolant temp sensor, map and air charge. once the engines comes to temp the idle wont stabilize. i have removed the injectors and applied dc power to make sure that they actuate, have good pressure on the rail. the car runs rich!!! when i have removed the plugs they are all wet. i dont have a scanner but have taken a timing light to each plug wire and they appear to have the same reaction through the gun ( kinda backyard )

could this be a injector issue?

Re: hunting

Have you properly set the IAC valve and TPS? Check out this tech article for instructions on how to do it.

Re: hunting

Gotcha on the TPS. The IAC itself just screws in, but the minimum air screw needs to be set so that the IAC isn't bottomed out in one direction or the other.

Re: hunting

If it's a TPI TPS sensor it shuld be adjustable. Why would you put a ZR1 TPS sensor on in the first place? Clearly it's calibrated differently. First thing I would do is get an adjustable, factory unit for that year TPI setup. Then adjust it to the proper calibration setting. Also adjust the IAC for minimum air as mentioned in a previous post. You may find that you replaced several sensors unnecessarily

Re: hunting

with regards to the sensors, they were part of the harness that was made for the install. i have a replacement tps that is adjustable, when i stalled it it did not resolve the problem, so i put the original back on and the replacement is in the tool box. the iac sensor was only removed and cleaned when i had the injection apart . it's when the car sat for 6 months this turd appeared. all of the plugs are wet when removed, and still no codes anywhere. i have purchased a set of bosh III's that are going in today.
fingers and toes crossed!
