Another 355 build...
Got the '87 IROC fired up this weekend after the 305 to 350 ('89 roller block bought at Daytona Turkey Rod swap meet for $50) engine swap.
Build items worth noting:
Starts right up, idles good (cold and warm) and it is a blast to drive. Cam has a slight lope to it, but just right (for me).

Build items worth noting:
- Bored 30 over w/ cast pistons and chrome moly ring set.
- Lunati cam - 54779LUN
- 081 heads w/ 1.94 intake valves. Slightly ported, intakes valve unshrouded and heads, in general, cleaned up. Stainless steel valves. Screw in rocker arm studs. Positive valve seals - intake and exhaust.
- 1.5 ratio stamped steel rockers (standard; not self-aligning) w/ long slots.
- Comp Cams 7.150 Magnum pushrods (Had to get 7.150" pushrods to maintain valve train geometry).
- Siamesed OE intake base.
- Ported OE plenum.
- Hooker 2055 headers and Y-pipe w/ Magna-Flow high flow cat.
- 27lb injectors.
- PROM tune (by me).

Re: Another 355 build...
Have about 400 miles on the L98 motor now and it is fairly strong. It has more power than my '92 LT1 Corvette w/ minor bolt-ons and tune.
No official Dyno numbers, but the butt Dyno says it's fun to drive!
Now that it is somewhat broken in, the idle is a little smoother when cold and hot and throttle response is awesome.

Re: Another 355 build...
Now that I am back in town, I'll try and load a video this weekend.
I now have about 800 miles on the rebuilt motor and I was noticing a slight hesitation occasionally, while taking off from a dead stop. Seemed worse when fully warmed up. I disabled the EGR and all seems to be good now.
The Lunati cam I am using has enough overlap to have "built-in EGR", so to speak. The external EGR was acting like a big vacuum leak since the cam was already allowing left over exhaust in the cylinder for combustion.
Kinda figured this would be the case with the Lunati cam, but you never know until you get everything all back together and start driving / tuning.
