NOOB in need of info
Hi uys well i messed up my old flue rail and now need to get a new one. So while im asking about that i wanted to know some stuff. Is there a better flue rail then the stock one? Im running after market injectors.
On then the 25th there is a swap meet in my state, but whats the best or better TPI set up? Like should i replace my runners and intake? (I have the 305 TPI and yes its a 1991 tpi 305.) Thanks in advance to the everyone who reply's.

i think replacing the intake and runners is alot of money to gain a small amount of performance out of a 305. probly a waste of money? replace the fuel rail. get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and crank it up. free flowing exhaust. be done.

Re: NOOB in need of info
I agree with redneckjoe. I have a 305 tpi in my 87 and the stock TPI setup is more than enough for the motor. Just find a good used set of fuel rails, clean the carbon out of the system, and put her back together. Now if you want to spend some money and get some improvements, put on some headers, high flow cat, free flow exhaust, and if you have the peanut cam in there (they came in the autos), drop in a LT1 or L98 cam. Those mods with a good tune up will get her to run like a bone stock L98. The down side to this is on a 91 you are running a Speed Density setup and will need to do some chip burning to get the best performance, the earlier MAF setups had a lot more lee way for mods and improvements. The bottom line is have fun with your car and enjoy it....

Re: NOOB in need of info
As most on this forum will agree, the 90-92 Speed Density TPI is the preferred system. It allows for better custom chip burning than the old MAF. Yes MAF should be better (it is on Ford's), but on the TPI, the bin's were not up to par.
FYI...New cars use both a MAF and a MAP sensor.

Re: NOOB in need of info
92RSTPI, my intent was not to spark a debate between MAF and Speed Density but only to point out that when doing mods on a Speed Density system it will almost always require some prom burning and tuning where is on the MAF it would allow you to do similar mods without the need to burn. I could be wrong but with my setup and mods I still run a stock prom with no issues but a bump in performance. Again this is my opinion and results.
