EGR Solenoid

Does anyone know of a source for a new EGR solenoid 89 350 TPI or a way to adapt the LT1 EGR solenoid..? Or looking for a working used replacement EGR solenoid. Mine has multiple intermittent faults based on scanner results; engine starts but quits under cold load in gear. Restarts and code clears most of the time.

Re: EGR Solenoid

I don't know anything about the LT1 EGR solenoid, but you can find an 89 Firebird solenoid on ebay or possibly your local parts store. If you don't want to take the gamble on ebay, you can always try Rockauto.com or some other well established online auto part stores.

Re: EGR Solenoid

The LT1 solenoid works in reverse so it will be opened instead of closed and vice versa. Member Jeckylandhyde did a write up on using a Cadillac EGR solenoid. I will find the link.

Re: EGR Solenoid

Here you go...
I think this also might work for the older cars like the Crossfires. I was going to give it a shot as my solenoid looks like it has seen better days.
