Injectors

Hello
Currently installing new injectors in the 305 iroc. I pulled the old ones out 523530 which I assume are the original standard ones. When you look inside the nozzle you see a pin whereas others I have seen have a nozzle with small holes to make the spray pattern Is this the way they made them or is something missing.

Thanks

Gary

Re: Injectors

Single hole is the old oem style. Newer injectors have 3-4 holes and better spray pattern.

The Delphi units from Southbay work great and are 100% plug and play.

Re: Injectors

the question is at over double the price of the bosch units are they any better? is there a difference in spray like talked about above with multiple holes vs a single hole in the bottom of the injector?

from what i remember before i parked it i had put in a new fuel pump and a direct wire voltage kit and upped the pressure about 15 lb to help fueling under boost. i know the dealer replaced some injectors as the factory ones had issues with the coils shorting out.

Re: Injectors

Delphi’s are a more direct replacement for oem multecs. The d3 work great but two downfalls. Noisy and they should be tuned for look at threads for d3 offsets. You have a FMU ?

No fmu, the paxtons in the 90's did not come with them. i remember the dealer replacing some shorted out injectors under warranty and i adjusted the fuel pressure up to around 60 psi and burnt a new prom

i may also have a set of fort 30 lb injectors from a mustang laying around someone told me would fit with tuning...i think the 30's will be too big even if i turn down the fuel pressure so maybe i just should get some new 24's as the injectors in the car are from 1992 and are likely the old style
