My new transmission pix.

I bought a new transmission (700-R4) today from TRI-STAR for $585 the package includes a new torque converter that I don't know what stall speed it is. The transmission and the converter have a full one year warranty. Sounds like a nice deal.

It's a bone stock. You can get it with a transgo kit and a vette servo for an additional $130.

Yikes! Assembled in S.A.? South America?! That can't be true could it? International refers to a company that deals with different countries.
Why is only half of it painted?

I'm sure it's a good transmission. Converter looks good and comes with new bolts. It should work out well for you. Bests of luck to you, let us know how it goes.

I believe S.A. stands for South Africa. I have never heard of anybody using a continent name for a point of assembly. How about if it was made in the US but said N.A. for North America? Never even heard of that.

Just wondering what S.A. meant. If it comes from the U.S. and is assembled in another country and gets sent back, must be some overhead going into shipping, but nothing wrong with it being built and sold in the same country.
I'm not an international businessman so I wouldn't know either way.
Still, whats Built in S.A. mean?

Just what I said; built in South Africa.

South Africa is a country, not a generic description of the southern end of Africa.

Nelson Mandella ring a bell?

Mandella builds transmissions now? Cool.
I'll bet shipping one from South Africa to Canada offsets the cheap price quite a bit huh?

ehh, just have to submarine them under the north pole for a quick route. It says made in the USA on the box, but assembled in SA. So...

The box is made in the USA, but the transmission is made in SA
or
The parts and all are made in the USA, sent to SA for assembly, and sent back ...
j/k

I really want to do the t-56 conversion .... ohh, i can just imagine the 6th gear.
