Car: 1991 Camaro RS
Engine: GMPP 350 HO w/TBI
Transmission: 700R-4
Axle/Gears: 10-bolt w/3.73s
is this bad? pic of tailshaft within...





this looks like my VSS, right? if there is one thing about my car that i am not very knowledgeable about...it is my tranny.

there is a friggin hole rusted in it. but, everything works great. what's the deal?

what do you guys think i should do?

is it leaking?

if so get a new VSS

i cant really see much from the pic......

nope, it's not leaking.

the pic isn't the greatest...but it does show all there is to show.

there is a "chunk" of the housing missing that rusted and fell off or whatever. that's what you can see in the pic.

like i said though, i have never had a problem with it so who knows. there is another "layer" of the housing that is still intact, but is rusted. you can see that in the pic too.

It is your VSS, ad it's up to you if you want to replace it. If it still works, and it is not leaking, i reckon i wqould just wait till it failed to replace it.
