wont stay in OD

ok ive posted several times on this exact topic with no respose, so, one more time.

When im on the highway, ...shift into OD, it doesnt go into od.
if i let completly off the gas, itll drop into OD.
the second i touch the gas, it goes back into third.
what gives? ive adjustsed the bejesus out of the tv cable, to the point where its at bare minimum TV .
yes its adjusted properly as everyone has specified. drive in second gear at about 15-20 mph, slam the gas, shifts into first instantly.
i have no other problems with this tranny at all. other than it being remanufactured with 1500 miles on it and OD NOT working.
so is this an internal problem? ship it back to the reman. place and demand a new one?
i installed a vette servo on the tranny myself. could i have done something wron to make it not drive in OD.????

Describe again the process you used to adjust the TV cable.

ok, push the D clip thing in, open the throttle, then push the detent/TV cable back towards the firewall as far as itll go with the throttle held wide open.

ive done this from the point where its maximum tv to the bare minimum tv, nothing seems to help.

to check and see if i have enough TV pressure, go 15-20 mph in second, slam the gas to the floor, it should shift to first immediatly. which it Does.

Did it operate correctly before you put the Vette servo in?

There is the 4th gear apply piston atop the Corvette servo assembly. If it started this after you installed the Corvette servo?, I would look here. The seal could have shrunk, been cut, etc.

here, yall tell me if this is the correct assembly of the servo.

Make sure spring inside the hole is still in the hole and correctly on the nub in the tunnel thing where the old servo came out.
Put the spring and plate from the oild servo onto the back of the new servo.
install spring/plate side facing inwards insto the tranny.
next install the other half of the servo assembly, with the ridges facing outward.
install spring and retaining clip
install the piece that goes on after the servo --dunno the name of it-- With the side with writting on it facing outwards.
install bell housing, depress greatly, itll pop in, then install the C ring clamp type thing.

Is this correct?

it would be great if someone had a schematic of how everything came out and went in. kind of like a carburator breakdown/rebuild schematic.

i was seriously aggravated by the end of this install and am not 100% sure if everything went in correctly.

all gears shift quickly, and firmly. With the exception of 4th.

maybe this will help figure out the problem.

This is the overdrive apply piston (from your description) that has the seal I am talking about. This is where you will need to look.

This thread has a picture of the servo lineup:

Be aware that the instructions for 'discard this' and 'add this' are for a modified setup. The picture is otherwise correct.

hell yes!! thats what i needed to begin wityh!! thank you....i was so aggravated with the install the first time that i forgot to pay very close attention to how stuff came out.....in any even my car is on ramps now....im about to yank the bell housing out...just had to take a smoke break.

thank yall for finally replying to this topic though, i had been baffled trying to figure out wtf was wrong. maybe i will fix the OD problem, i hope...if not, i dunno what else to do.

guess ill send it back to the plant it was reman at. get a new one, but thanks again for the schematic. its hard to verbally describe how each piece goes in , and in what correct order they fall into....

haha i think i found the problem.....the 4th gear piston seal was lik eBENT around the edge of the piston instead of completly in the groove, dunno how i put it in that way, guess im retarded...

ill scan a pic of the bastard.....this wouldnt cause me to burn up the tranny would it?? i never really drove in OD and it was only like that for about 500 miles.
