need help BADLY!!!

i'll make it quick... my front seal is out the fluid comes out as fast as i put it in... now i know i have to replace the bushing inside too... i don't have the time to do it my self and to keep it real I don't know if im capable of doing it... so i called this shop and they said they'll do it for $350. He also told me that it is very likely that the torque converter is out and that would be another $250. Thats just too much i can't afford it... Here is the question, Is he BSing me for more cash or is he telling me the truth??? If anybody has had the same problem can you give me the heads up or any tips would help. THANX FOR THE TIPS

By the way is a 700r4 out of a 91 RS L03

BS

Just thought i would let you know that torque converter is 119.99 from oreilly with a 1 year warranty. So if they want 250 for it dont bite. now if they are quoting you labor and price for torque converter alone thats ok. Also if they want 350 for changeing the front seal thats BS as the seal is 3.79 at oreilly and the rest would be labor so i think thats high. Do it your self and spend maybe 150 for the parts and enjoy your weekend project. Torque converters can be had for less as a local trans shop i bought parts from had the b29 converters for 79.99 with a one year warranty. Just shop arround.

well honeslty thats not to high. The torque converter price is but the $350 for the front pump seal isnt to bad. When you consider it is probably 6-8 hours flat rate at $45 an hour. Then trans fluid and other parts. Its still alittle high but no insainly high.
