question on diff swap

orginally my car was stock w/ a 1988 2.8L V6 and 3.42 rear end. it now has a 5.7L V8 w/ the same rear end but I want to put in a posi. I've read that some things changed in '88 for GM rear ends and wasn't sure what would or wouldn't work. After lookin around and readin this is what I found....a 3.73 Eaton Posi Unit 7.625" 10 bolt GM 28 Spline..... and I know that Auburn has the same thing. Would this work in my '88 bird? thanks,
-Drew

yours has 26 splines axles. you will need to get 28 splines to work the that carrier. Or buy a posi for 26 spline axles. gears are the same...
