WTF did my friend do?

Ok well I bought my friend's camaro as I was SOL from blowing the head gaskets on my subaru (one of the more difficult jobs to do) and he kinda muttered to me he welded a tranny mount cuz he couldnt get it in place...so I got the car super cheap. Now, I pulled the shifter cover off and the tranny sits at an angle (so instead of the shifter sitting at 12, it sits between 11 and 12) and now the tranny has a nice big gap on the driver's side, about 2-3 inch gap so I can see the ground from the hole. and yes, if I shift it a lil hard my passenger gets *** raped lol.

Am I gonna have problems til I can hunt down the mounts for this? So far I havent been able to find any (used) 5spd mounts, every single one has been for an auto, but I've only actually owned the car for 2-3 days (Ive had it for a couple weeks now) I'm a lil on the broke side and the car needs a bunch of little things done to it (nothing really expensive but together it's getting there) so I dont want to order new mounts for it til I'm for sure gonna build it.

I think the mount is the same. Just the cross member is different for the T5. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

The T5's are tilted but I think the housing where the shifter bolts on to is straight up. Been a while since I pulled a T5. Over ten years ago. My memory could be off a touch. Wasn't a pleasant experence in an alley behind a strip mall with a lot of strange people all over the place including drunks and glue sniffers.

According to my friend it's just the mount that is. I havent had time to look at it myself and knowing him it was a couple half assed spot welds so nothing too hard to undo but since I havent looked at it yet I just couldnt tell you for sure. He didnt explain the tilt either, this is what I seen when I pulled the shifter cover off. It made me think the mount on the driver's side was MIA but as much clunking as it's done if it werent there I'm thinking the tranny mightve fell out by now

and this tilt cant be right, the shifting is off a bit (point top to the left just enough for it to be noticable) from the angle the tranny sits and it's not liking reverse all the time from this angle (on a bad day it'll take me a couple tries to find it and I havent misshifted this thing yet) and I KNOW that gap isnt right since there's exhaust fumes coming in. Not major I'm getting high/sleepy fumes but just enough to smell it occasionally, and that definately wasnt there before he worked on the tranny last- that being finished exactly 1 day before I blew the head gaskets in my other car and had to borrow it til the offer to sell it came up.

If you couldnt tell this car wasnt exactly taken care of, but I'd rather get everything done right so I dont end up screwed over and/or stranded in the end. I'm trying to figure out what needs to get done first and what can wait til my next check, and right now it's sitting between this and new rear tires (sorry...I HAD to show some hondas up)

Ok well I think I broke the welds on that mount...and Im still looking for mounts in good condition, should I be OK til I can hunt one down? I'm babying the hell out of the tranny at the moment since Im not entirely sure (I havent felt the clunking against the underside of the pass. seat since and well reverse just got a hell of a lot easier to shift into)
