Please please look at this pig

It's a nine bolt borg warner, the guy said it a 3.27 posi out of 1988 GTA.
Please look at it and tell me if it is a posi ,or that you think.

i believe all 9 bolts were posi.

I am also unaware that any 9bolts were made 'open'

Its a "performance" option, why would they wreck it like that

rotate it so you can see the "window" in the casting (the big hole) and take a pic and post it so we can be 100% sure, but I've never heard of a 9-bolt that wasen't a LSD

There were in fact BW 9-bolts that were open, but I don't believe they were available on any third gens. And is that pic upside down?

That the thing, there no big hole in the casting in the nine bolt B/W. I have a ten bolt w/ lsd I opened up to compare them(the ten bolt has the hole W/ springs and small gears) they are not the same. I just want to make sure before I go through all the work installing the B/W.

This from the above: 85-90 9 bolt equipped f-bodies were available with either standard open differentials or limited slip versions as well as several different ratios including: 2.77, 3.08, 3.27 (G92 w/auto), 3.45 (G92 w/stick), and a few 3.70 ratio's came in some 85 & 86 Firebird's w/L69, stick & G92=Very Rare!
