Non-electrical TCC problems Help!
Hi Guys-
I have a 700R4 I need some help with. My camaro has the stock 700R4, I have upgraded it with a TCI corvette servo, B&M Shift kit and plate type supplemental trans cooler. The car has a built motor and runs strong. Transmission is well behaved, and has been serviced periodicaly. Recently I came to the realization that my TCC was not functioning (probaly for years, yeah I know I should know better but when they work right they are so unobtrusive its easy to overlook). I went my thru my flow charts and deduced that my TCC solenoid was bad. I Replaced it (it was in fact bad I checked the old one). Anyway My New TCC solenoid is definately functioning however I still dont have TCC lock-up. What should I look at next? I want to install a vigilante 2800rpm torque converter but want my tranny to be working perfectly.

is the actual TCC plugged into you ECM and you TCC will only lock up in 4th when you hit 55 or a certain RPM determined by the governor

actually, my tc locks up at 40mph when in drive as determined by the ecm. the govenor has nothing to do with tc lock-up in an '88 since the computer does it. most 700r4s lock-up feature is controlled by the ecm after '85 or '86. govenor has nothing to do with it in these models. overdrive kicks in at 55 mph.
the problem could be in the valve above the lock-up solenoid. it could be stuck from having a bad solenoid in it before you replaced the solenoid.
