TCC solenoid - Can it be heard?
Trying to diagnose a problem with TC lockup. With the key on and the aldl wire connected again and again. Can the solenoid be heard with a persons head near to the transmission? If so, what should it sound like and how loud is it?

Re: TCC solenoid - Can it be heard?
Did some testing on the road and found a good clue but no ideas on the problem. I manually ground the solenoid while driving and find the converter locks as it should at lower speed and at higher speed it does not lock at all. Basically it works while cruising at in-town speeds and not at all on the highway.
This is an '85 TPI TA with a cable speedo. I don't know if vehicle speed has anything to do with it or not, may have to do with rpm?
Any info on the condition is greatly appreciated.
