What engine do you have? What year is your car?
2.8/3.1/3.4 V6 use a different bolt pattern than the V8
87 and newer use a 31 spline input shaft for the torque converter and older models sometimes use a 27 spline shaft.
YOU MUST KEEP YOUR TAILSHAFT HOUSING FOR YOUR TORQUE ARM MOUNT!
Other than that, they are pretty much interchangeable...

Unless it's from a 4wd or Corvette too, in which cast the tailshaft length is different.

1984 1/2 and later are all 30 spline input shafts. You will need to change the tail housing. Make sure the TV cable is adjusted correctly.

You will probably also need to keep the TV cable from the car to ensure its the right length.

That's a complete trans tear down. Is the trans out of a 4WD truck?
