Engine: 5.7L

Would this work......

Hello,
Well im not a regular on this site but i do have some questions that i am sure you guys can answer. Well i previously owned a 1990 Iroc Z-28 with the 5.7 and it was a blast. The only thing i had against the car is that it was an automatic, as we all know chevrolet never put manuals in those cars. Well long story short i no longer have that car, but want another one sometime soon. But i want a manual and at least the 5.7L TPI. I have heard the T-5 transmissions were not all that durable, but what if i were to take an 91'-92' RS and pull the motor out of it and swap it with a 5.7L. Would the transmission hold up to that? The reason i ask, is the RS is already set up to be a manual, so it would be mostly motor swap, making it an easier swap to do rather then an auto to manual. Please correct me if i am wrong anywhere. And exactly how much abuse can those T-5 transmissions put up with? The last question i had was, what were (if there were any) the major suspension differences from the 90' IROC to the later model RS's? Thanks a bunch, and sorry if these issues have been discussed, like i said im not a regular but have been tossing these ideas around for a while.
