Refresh versus rebuild kit wc t5

What are the part differences between a refresh and a rebuild kit for a world class t5?
Also, do the keyways that hold 5th gear come in either kit?

Re: Refresh versus rebuild kit wc t5

Never heard of a "refresh kit"?

Whats in it? Got a link or something? How much different does it cost from a "rebuild kit"?

There's no "keyways" holding 5th gear on; one half of it is splined to the mainshaft, and the other half is splined to the countergear. 5th has "keys" (not "keyways") that are part of its synchro assembly, similar to the other forward gears, but they don't "hold the gear"; are those what you mean? If so, then no, they don't come in any of the "kits", you'd have to buy them separately.

The only ones i can speak for are the kits from Hanlon motorsports as that is who i use. They do have refresh and rebuild kits. The refresh are only synchro rings and i believe synchro springs and the keys sofakingdom describes. Check out their website or give them a call to confirm, there may be a couple other things in them, i can't remember for sure. Their rebuild kits include basically everything short of shafts, sychros, forks and gears (hard parts). They include all bearings, synchro rings, keys, springs, roll pins, clips, seals, bearing shims.
