My buddy has an 86 camaro with a 2.8L v6 with an auto trans, the other day he came to me saying it wouldn't shift gears. I took it for a spin and ran it through 1st and 2nd manually and then put it in OD and it was fine until I shut it off and started it back up again. I changed the trans filter and it shifted fine for the night, but by the next morning it was happening again...let it sit til the next day and I was able to drive it around for a few miles with no problems at all. then after sitting at a red light it was back to not shifting again...there is no whinning coming from the trans, it shifts into drive and reverse without hesitation and there are no metal shavings in the fluid...I'm not sure what's going on. could it by a TV cable problem?
