t5 throwout bearing question

I've read all the posts about correctly positioning the fingers on the inside of the groove. However, I have not read anything about lining up the ear on the throwout bearing itself. On both of my throwout bearings they have a piece that sticks out farther, where does that piece need to go?

Re: t5 throwout bearing question

It's not real important where you position it, but I usually put it between the two fingers of the release fork. It's meant to be an alignment aid on some applications, but it's not necessary on ours.

Re: t5 throwout bearing question

just a tip if you dont already know, if you bought a regular clutch kit the throwout bearing has a good chance of not being machined properly, if its off the litlest bit it can catch. ive seen this myself twice both from brand new dynapak clutch kits, i just returned them both with my receipt.
