Tranny makes a strange clicking sound
Hey, my transmission is making a strange clicking sound. It only happens while the tranny is in reverse. I dont notice any slipping or anything and the fluid level is correct. I have no idea what might be causing this, any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. It is a stock 700r4 with about 165k miles on it attatched to an l98. (driven pretty hard from time to time)
Thanks
Thanks

It might be that the parking praw is not releasing all the way.
What you might try is holding the button on your shifter and see if you can bring back as close to neutral without pulling out of reverse. You know somewhere between 'R' and 'N', without dropping it out of reverse.
Could be your shifter cable is streched or mis aligned, or your parking praw retainer is lose.
Something to start with ?
Good Luck,
