Ok the other nite being a hardass, i accelerated hard off a traffic light, i heard a big pop and my transmission seems to be shifting late into second and try and put it in second manualy and its as if i put it in nuetral

sounds like linkage bent maybe also from the pop does it do it off of a gentle acceleration ?

i had similiar issue turned outto beleiveit or not to be a 8.00 dollar transmission mount a whole 10 minutes work the shop said motor mounts but linkage and shifting seemed off. transmission was turning and moving around kinking the linkage

yeah i had driven it once more today and the car does have all the gears there, so thats good, it just seems like its always one gear too low and under gentle accel its late and under hard accel its late and in between. but I'm not sure what too look at once i'm underneath the car. so could you point me in the right direction and maybe some test or a check list to find out if my linkage is bent or if my T.v. cable is mess adjusted or possibly broken. I truely appreciate any help and support thanx and have a good one.

if ya have ramps run the front on them then put a jack under your transmission pan put a peice of wood on it so not to damage the pan and slowly lift the transmision you should se the one crossmember accross the tranny i believe its 2 bolts on each side + one on the center take that off and see if the mount comes apart in two peices after time the rubber on the mount seperates from the metal and it has to be replaced the linkage should be on the driver side of the transmision put blocks at the tire and the key in and have some one go through the gears with the car off see if ya see any thing binding

also check joints on either side of drive line for broken bolts or brackets
