T5 need help asap

was going to change the fluid, got the old fluid out and the fill plug is stripped and wont come out, i got the shifter off to add fluid, but have no way to know if its full since i can't get the top plug out. I think i remember my mustang took around 3.5 quarts. Is the t5 the same in a firebird? Would 3.5 quarts be fine for this one? I hope u guys can give me a answer in the next few minutes, i have to put the car back together and go somewhere

lol i had a little pump when i did it on the mustang, was gonna do it like that today, but the damn fill plug wouldn't come out. I ended up using 3.5 though, seems to be fine, still makes the noise in reverse though. But man the fluid that came out was nasty, glad i decided to change it

Thats why you always see if you can fill it before you drain it!

had a buddy try to use the wrong wrench on mine. can't remember how it went but it was like he was trying to use metric on a sae. just a bit bigger and it was on tight.

My '84 Firebird service manual specs 2.5L/5.3 U.S. pints fluid capacity for the T5.
