Identify Limited Slip / Posi Unit

Please help me ID this posi unit that I am considering buying. After IDing manufacturer, how, then, do I ID the series for Ring and Pinion compatibility?

Thanks for your time.
Matt

Any part numbers on it? Is it for 9-bolt or 10 bolt rear?

Re: Identify Limited Slip / Posi Unit

I'll have to go by tomorrow to check it out. he said he picked it up for his 3rd Gen Z28 rear end, but then went 4th gen. I've only seen a few posi's in person, and none have looked like this.

You might try contacting someplace like Reider Racing.

That's a Borg Warner unit from a 9 bolt. Hard to tell if it is a 2 or 3 series by a picture, but it looks like a 3 series.

Re: Identify Limited Slip / Posi Unit

OK. I see there is the same unit on this post:
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/ca...-rs-305-a.html (92 Camaro RS, 305 TBI, Auto, Bright Red, Immaculate!)

I would agree, it looks like a 3 series compared to the second post picture.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, a 3 series will accept 3.08 up to 3.7X.

From the info I am reading on the board, BW units are rare and parts are hard to come by.

Thanks for the help.
Matt
